Your New Contact Lens Fit Awaits

Finding the right contact lenses is about more than just your prescription—it’s about achieving comfort, clarity, and confidence in every pair. At our clinic, we provide personalized contact lens exams and fittings to match you with lenses that fit your lifestyle and vision needs.

Whether you’re new to contacts, updating your prescription, or looking for specialty lenses, we take the time to understand your eyes and preferences, prioritizing a comfortable and seamless experience.

From your first consultation to ongoing care, we’re here to help you enjoy all the benefits of contact lenses with guidance every step of the way.

CONTACT LENS EXAM FOR YOUR COMFORT

Contact lens exams go beyond regular eye exams to check that your lenses fit and function well. Even if you already have a prescription for glasses, your contact lens prescription will be unique.

At Old South Optometry, every contact lens exam starts with a comprehensive eye exam. During this visit, we’ll measure your cornea’s curvature, check your tear film, assess the health of your eyelids to look for any signs of ocular allergies or blepharitis, measure your refractive error

and proceed with a lifestyle questionnaire. Whether you need lenses for everyday wear or special occasions, this initial eye health assessment will help us find the right ones for you. From there, we will schedule a contact lens exam to assess the behaviour of the lenses on your eyes, to get the optimal results with your contact lenses and keep you happy and comfortable for years to come!

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR CONTACT LENS EXAM

Your contact lens exam is where we check that your lenses fit just right. If you are a new wearer, a contact lens exam consist of two parts. First of all, an educational session where we’ll guide you through inserting and removing your lenses safely and review the proper wear and care to avoid discomfort or ocular complications. Secondly, a careful assessment of the lens on your eyes to assess lens centration, lens movement, vision and comfort.

CONTACT LENSES FOR EVERY LIFESTYLE

Everyone’s eyes are unique, and finding the right contact lenses can make all the difference in achieving clear vision and all-day comfort. Contact lenses offer solutions tailored to specific needs, whether you’re an athlete, need a custom fit to manage ocular surface diseases, or want to explore new options, specialty lenses provide versatile solutions for an active lifestyle.

From contact lenses that simplify your day-to-day activities to orthokeratology (ortho-k) lenses that correct vision overnight, our lenses are tailored to keep your eyes healthy, comfortable, and performing their best.

Soft contact lenses are popular for their comfort and flexibility. Made of soft, breathable material, they mould to the shape of your eye, making them a great choice for beginners, those with active lifestyles or professionals.

They’re an ideal choice for correcting common refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia.

RGP lenses are a durable, smaller, and firmer alternative to soft lenses. These lenses are an excellent choice for patients with corneal astigmatism, or those seeking higher optical quality to correct higher refractive errors or presbyopia.

Scleral lenses are larger contact lenses that sit on the white part of your eye. They create a gentle, liquid-filled cushion that can help with dry eyes, irregular corneas, or conditions like keratoconus. These lenses can help provide clear, stable vision and comfort.

Ortho-k lenses are specially designed to reshape your cornea overnight, allowing you to enjoy clear vision during the day without wearing lenses or glasses. They’re particularly effective for managing myopia progression in children and teens while providing a glasses-free solution for adults.

For those with keratoconus or other corneal conditions, our custom lens fittings can provide a tailored solution. Scleral and RGP lenses are carefully selected and adjusted to prioritize comfort and clarity, helping to restore vision and confidence. We’re here to guide you every step of the way.
